The Years after the Non-Partisanship Era
Politics is heavily partisanship. We have mainly Liberals and Conservatives, for which I've grown to disdain. Many others should in fact follow, as there is absolutely no logic left in either. There exists many labels out there of the voter spectrum. However none have truly shown any compliance with logic in my book. For a very long time I called myself a Liberal, to which I grew to resent. I used to be a fan of TYT(The Young Turks). I guess I still am a bit but their methodology and train of thought are often skewed or even wrong. I've always held so-called Conservative values in me as well. I don't wish to talk about either, but for a very long time I critiqued the Conservative ideology but never paid attention to my own ideology until now. The fact is, Liberals are just as crazy as Conservatives, which for years I thought was the more rational group. They indeed still are, but not by far. I've got to say I finally realized where I stood when I encountered the politicized environment both groups are out to seek, which often leads to a path full of gaps in logic.
It is for that reason that I decided to call myself a Progressive, I look forward to positive changes. I find Liberals have an easier time than Conservatives. I also find that Conservatives are quite hypocritical always touting business, who often need to make changes to continue being profitable. That said, it means that Liberals don't have a tough time for this. One great example of this is the backlash Neil Degrasse Tyson received for preaching GMO's. GMO's are in fact progress, because many more people can be fed and plants can be modified to absorb less water, one which is quickly becoming an issue for California who also happens to host one of the largest agricultural fields. I've seen several articles where scientists claim there no severe or noticeable effects in consuming GMO's. However, that doesn't mean I agree with Monsanto's aggressive policies. I don't. The fact that they are sabotaging smaller farms who refuse to use their seeds certainly has implications of corruption and malicious intents.
We definitely need to start looking at the world in a manner of which we can all progress, make changes to make our stay more comfortable and longer as well. But not like in Brave New World
